In another brilliant show of of his keen intellect, Joe Biden suggested today that paying more taxes was not only something he was going to make all you nasty rich people do, but that you should enjoy doing it because it is your "patriotic" duty to do so.
Firstly, I don't particularly buy the argument that it's your patriotic duty to do anything - let each person be patriotic in whatever way they see fit (so long as it infringes on nobody elses rights). But ignoring the fact that I'm a small minded college student who doesn't like being told what to do, let's look at what Joe Biden said for a moment, as we bask in the radiance of tomfoolery and idiocy.
"It's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut." Biden said.
What kind of debauchery is this? Have we come to the point now where liberals think you're being patriotic by taking money away from people? I don't care if you are rich, poor, or middle class, the government taking your money is NOT the patriotic thing to do. And you damn well better believe that insisting (as Biden, Obama, and their liberal pals are doing) on taking OTHER peoples money is no more patriotic then insisting on taking someone's house, liberty, or life.
Say 'NO' to gasbag joe, and let us all tightly grip our wallets for another few years.
